Forums and conferences
The charity through its projects seeks to promote the sharing of knowledge, experience and teaching methods between various bodies involved into the field of children protection in Uzbekistan. To achieve this goal, the charity actively cooperates with the Government bodies and international organizations.
In this regards, “You are not alone” children’s charity annually organizes international forums on different directions of children’s social support, in conjunction with the National Center for Children’s Social Adaptation and other partners.
- International Forum “Effective forms and methods of rendering aid to socially vulnerable children”, May 5-6, 2005;
- International Forum "Reforms within the system of social adaptation of children", November 15-16, 2006;
- Conference "Perspectives of development of the system of social protection of children in Uzbekistan", November 29-30, 2007;
- International Forum “Inclusive education and modern trends in development of the forms of social supporting of children", October 28-29, 2008;
- “From childhood to adult life: social protection, social work, social integration”, November 26-27, 2009;
- Round table, dedicated to the World AIDS Day, December 1, 2009;
- The 2nd scientific-practical conference on Innovations in Cancer Treatment, February 17, 2010;
- The 2nd international conference of Central Asia plastic surgeons, May 12-14, 2010.
These forums and conferences resulted in adoption of documents with the recommendations on resolution of revealed problems on long-term perspective. In accordance on these recommendations, the Law on “The guarantees of the right of a child” has been adopted, the Resolutions “About children’s towns for children, left without parental care, who are on state guardianship”, “About family type orphanage houses” have been developed and adopted, new editions of Resolutions “About adoption of under-aged children”, “About wardship and guardianship”, “About Mercy houses”, “On provision of information about children, who are a subject to wardship and guardianship” and others have been adopted. The staff of the charity actively participated in development of a law in draft “About the Ombudsman for Children”, which is passing the expertise in the chambers of the Parliament of Uzbekistan.
