Cultural-Entertainment events
During school holidays, the charity organizes trips to theatres, museums and zoos, as well as other cultural events for children from Mercy orphanages. Children often attend concerts of popular foreign and national artists.
Every June 1st, all children from Tashkent orphanages and surrounding regions participate in various events to celebrate International Children’s Day. Children spend a day in an amusement park Tashkent-Land having a day of fun, rides and entertainment. The ceremonial part includes a concert in Grand Academic State Theater named after A.Navoi. As well, children have a trip to mountains, visit zoo and other national parks.
As well the charity annually participates in organization of New Year holidays for orphan children. In one of the main Tashkent concert halls “Turkistan”, children play around New-Year tree with Uzbek Santa – “Qor Bobo” (“Snow grand-daddy”), sing and dance. After this, they watch a holiday Shaw and get presents.
In 2008 Children’s Forum has been organized for the first time in Uzbekistan. It involved over 100 children from all Uzbek regions, including orphan children, representatives of Children’s Parliament and school leaders. The Forum was aimed at acquaintance of children with new Law “On the Guarantees of the Rights of a Child”. During 3-day Forum children discussed important issues of the system of children’s rights protection in Uzbekistan.
Widening of a view scope of orphan children, inculcation of a sense of love to native country was the main aim of a republican conference “Development of children and youth tourism”, which was held in cooperation with the Ministry of public education.
The charity also initiated tourist trips of orphan child and children from law-income families to Moscow and Saint-Petersburg. As well, children from one of Tashkent orphanages participated in international festival “Castle key” in Saint-Petersburg, where they won 2nd and 3rd places in different nominations.
