Assistance to the most vulnerable groups
A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes in providing orphanages with books, text books, equipment, computers, outerwear and clothes for children, together with repair and building maintenance work.
In 2005 the Fund, together with the Ministry of Health and the Red Crescent Society in Uzbekistan also sent aid to families living the coastal areas of Thailand in 2005 shortly after the tsunami disaster.
Humanitarian and sponsor assistance, incoming to the charity is being distributed to all children institutions of Uzbekistan.
The charity renders assistance in repair and building maintenance work in Mercy houses, summer camps fro orphan children, boarding schools, as well as Muruvvat Houses for orphan children with disabilities. Computer classes in two Tashkent Mercy houses were equipped with computers, office appliances and Internet in cooperation with the Boeing company.
Summer health-improvement camp located in Ak-Tash hole, which belongs to one of Tashkent Mercy houses has been totally rebuilt. New swimming-pool and dining-room were among the summer presents for the children.
The charity also helped National house for the veterans of war and work, having made a repair in buildings and equipped them with new furniture, equipment for laundry and dining-hall. As well, comfortable passages between buildings were also constructed, now elderly people may move from one building to another without going out through the yard.
Annually on the eve of national holidays the charity helps law-income families. Such as, on the eve of May 9 – the Day of Memory and Respect, the charity congratulates veterans of the World War 2. The staff of the charity, together with a group of volunteers and cadets visit veterans right in their homes to give presents and personal congratulation letters on behalf of Lola Karimova, the chairwoman of “You are not alone” charity.
The charity provided assistance to children and families, who suffered from terrorist acts in Uzbekistan. Annually the charity undertakes repair and reconstruction works in several Tashkent Mercy houses, facilitating creation of worthy life conditions for orphan children in order to promote their intellectual, physical and cultural development.
The charity also constantly helps “Muruvvat” houses for orphan children with disabilities. As such, in 2009 the repair and reconstruction work was held in one of such houses in Tashkent, where 41 children, aged 4-12, with various physical and psychical disabilities reside. Now these children live, study and play in rooms, back-fitted with the conceptually new approach. Thorough repair in five bedrooms, rooms for studying and playing, dining hall, terrace and swimming pool have been done with consideration of recommendations of the leading psychologists and doctors. Special sensor room, equipped with the latest technologies, which is the second in the country was established in the house. The children, staying in the room independently or with specialists, explore everything, being surrounded by various encouraging facilities.
